I had a chance to chat briefly with someone whose work I admire, and they mentioned to me that I didn’t seem to have much of an online presence.
That’s true! I haven’t had much occasion to blog much as professional-suitable-for-LinkedIn-me at all. And while I self-host WordPress for a number of other folk, my own day-to-day experience is just dropping things in Quick Draft and occasionally Quick Edit-ing them into live-ness.
So I told them that I’m “working on it”.
So in the spirit of getting some hands-on experience with the product, and also so’s I don’t make myself a liar to good people, I’m working through the process of setting up a WordPress.com site, with custom domain, from scratch.
And in the spirit of reflection, I’ll blog about it, bit by bit.
I’m hitting my support rotation this week (with WPCOM, wouldn’t you know!), so I’m not sure how much time I’ll be able to devote to this, but expect small bite-sized updates at least weekly.
Let’s begin.
